À la quatrième derrière (ah- la- kwat-ree- em de- ree- air). If you haven't noticed, any "e" with an accent above it makes the long "A" sound. It's a pretty simple position, your body is en face for facing front, tendu or extension back (derrière) and arms in a long 2nd position. Boom.
Croisè derrière is facing your body to a front corner, keeping shoulders and hips square, take your leg that's closest to the back of the room and extend to a tendu derrière. Opposite arm is up in a 5th en haut (on oh), other arm in 2nd, and your head is turned toward the audience and slightly tilted as if looking under the wrist. Notice your legs are crossed, that's the "Croisè" part of the postition. Now once you're in the position it is ok to turn your shoulders slightly, when I said shoulders and hips square that meant looking at your corner, right?? Add some artistry and sparkle to it and perfect the look. ❤️

I'm going to say it again, anyone can study ballet just like they study yoga (and that shoulder stand we did yesterday). So stand up and go perfect these positions! ❤️ Next week we will talk about tendu and why it's important.
That's all for Technique Tuesday, Happy Dancing!
